No tablet has managed to match up to the magic of the iPad. However, the soon-to-be-launched MatePad Pro from Huawei is slated to give competition to the iPad Pro.
Let’s discuss the rumors, the hype and the expectations that are running wild before the device is officially unveiled.
Design: The MatePad Pro has thin bezels and an in-display hole-punch camera that definitely feels premium. The display is adequate for video streaming, web browsing, productivity, and design applications. The back of the device has a minimalist design with a dual camera and LED flash.
Hardware: Not much is known about the hardware specs yet, but speculations suggest a Kirin 990 SoC with 8 GB of RAM. The display resolution could be 2560 x 1440, but we will have to wait for the launch date to get more details about the display, camera performance, storage, and other details.
Operating System: There are no points for guessing that the MatePad Pro will run on Android. Being a flagship, it is expected to support at least 2 years of future OS updates, bug fixes and security patches from Google.
Charging: Huawei recently got a 3C certification. So, it’s almost confirmed that it will have 40W charging. We can expect around 9-10 hours of battery life on regular usage.
Accessories & Variants: Accessories like a detachable keyboard, m-pen, and Bluetooth earbuds can be launched alongside the MatePad Pro. We can expect a Wi-Fi and an LTE variant. There can also be a pro and a non-pro model to cater to a variety of consumers. The device will launch in 4 color variants i.e. white, black, green and orange.
