Samsung is planning to launch its new Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ on 5 August virtually via Galaxy Unpacked event as the global pandemic continues to grapple the world. The Galaxy Unpacked event will also witness the launch of the new Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Fold 2, and Galaxy Flip Z 5G.
According to the leaks, the Galaxy Tab S7 will offer two variants of 12.4-inch and 11-inch display options to its customers. Wherein the 11-inch tab is said to closely resemble the iPad Pro 11. The new Galaxy Tab S7 is Samsung’s attempt to bring an alternative competition for Apple’s iPad Pro series.
Taking it a notch higher, Samsung has featured the new Galaxy Tab S7 with a 9800 mAh battery. Moreover, given its svelte body and slim bezels around the display, the new S7 device is estimated to be 6.6 mm thick making it marginally thicker than iPad Pro 11 and the Galaxy Tab S6.
Compared to Galaxy Tab S6, the new device has minimal design upgrades. The back panel remains the same except the dual camera design with added LED flash. The front camera’s location has been shifted to top bezel when the tab is in the landscape position.

The power button on the device has been relocated as well and it is expected to have an integrated fingerprint scanner. The position of the Samsung logo has been changed to sit vertically on the device and the tab will come handy with S Pen with the design element resembling its predecessor.
The Galaxy Tab S7+ on the other hand has a 12.4-inch panel. It has also received SM-T976B certification from the Bluetooth SIG which is believed to be the 5G version of the Tab S7+. According to some leaks, Samsung may add a third camera to the S7+ variant. Moreover, the Tab S7 series will support Bluetooth 5.0 and will come equipped with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC. It is also likely that the S7 series will support HDR10+.
Popular tipster and Samsung insider Ice Universe affirmed that both Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ will feature 120 Hz display, a minimum of 6 GB RAM, and 128 GB internal storage. Although Apple was offering 120 Hz display in iPad Pro since 2018, it will be only now that Samsung will set foot to match this feature on its exceptional tablet device.
The leaks also confirmed that that Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ will be geared with micro SD card slot, dual rear camera, and AKG-tuned quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support. For charging, the device will have USB Type-C at the bottom. Additionally, the Galaxy Tabs will have AMOLED displays whereas the Note 20 series will be geared with a 120Hz LTPO display.
It is estimated that Samsung is likely to ship the Galaxy Tab S7 with Android 10 and One UI 2.1. However, if One UI 2.5 releases soon the company may equip the new devices with UI 2.5 in the second half of the year.
