After MatePad 10.4-inch’s appearance on Chinese e-commerce websites like Vmall and JD a few days ago, the tab is finally launched in China. It is available for purchase at Huawei’s online stores now. The way Huawei’s logo printed on the tab and the place of the front cam revealed that the default orientation of MatePad will be landscape. However, you can change it as per your needs.
MatePad comes with Kirin 810 chip which is a 64-bit Octa-Core processor. It’s a mid-range processor like Snapdragon 730. The RAM and internal memory depend on the variant you choose. It comes with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB with expandable memory up to 512 GB using a microSD card.
The battery capacity is 7250 mAh which is pretty much better. However, Huawei’s self-developed NPU and the GPU used are quite energy efficient. Huawei claims that you can watch videos for about 12 hours on a single charge.

MatePad’s front and rear cameras have 8 million pixels resolution with auto-focus and ultra-wide angle functions. It’s ultra-wide capturing capacity can click pics with a large area covered.
With screen size 10.4 inches, it has a 2K HD IPS touch display. No matter you’re a student or a teacher, you can use this tablet for education and teaching purpose. It comes with a stylus that can be fitted to the right side of the tab. The stylus makes taking notes, making sketches, learning easier with MatePad.
Huawei has tried to erase the difference in the needs of a tab and a mobile phone with MatePad 10.4”. You can split the data connection between your phone and the tab. Also, you can receive and send messages and can receive your phone calls on tab after a simple setup.
Initially, Huawei MatePad was available in only one color, Fritillary white, but after it’s launch, there is one more color variant available Night ash.
All in all, this tablet is quite good for children and students. The tablet screen can be split while you’re surfing and taking online classes. Also, it has night light for eye protection, especially for children. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go for this tablet if you want one solely for entertainment purposes.
